Shi Mawenzhu is an artist focusing on how the art is orienting and manipulating the gaze in relation to the subject position that derives from the contemplation of self-recognition and authorship about art. Also she explores the relationship between time and possibilities in the making process. Time in her work is both the subject and the material.
