Cacophony of birdsong built by scraping audio from Macaulay Library (freely available online repository of such.)

It’s a hot-mess, but also is kinda sorta just a little mesmerizing:

I then used a spectogram to visualize the audio:

Screen-shotted, and next I flipped & mirrored the visual in PS.

And changed the saturation/colors to make the shape stand-out (might revert back)

If I had access to a 3D printer the next step would be to render this as a physical shape.

As for why…? I’m still teasing that out, but the inquiry here began after thinking on the mystique of the first birdsong ever recorded, a nightingale from the early 1900’s. This same nightingale song may soon be included on the Moon Ark, a project by Google to put an autonomous, solar-powered rover, on the moon where it would roam, with speakers, playing the following song, forever (i.e. noise):
