Hello! Welcome to my blog.
My name is Olúwáṣọlá Kẹ́hìndé Olówó-Aké, you can call me Sola [pr: Shola] . I am a Master of Design Student (Interdisciplinary) at Emily Carr University. My practice is centred around expressing my Yoruba culture in order to restructure black narratives the diasporic environment holds. I do this by presenting alternative epistemologies [knowledge] that can sit in the diaspora and contribute to decolonizing ways of being through story-telling, dance, embodied practice, garment construction and poetry.
